XMS 3 Management Interface
Simple, scalable connectivity management

The Xsigo XMS 3 management interface lets you create, monitor and manage network and storage connections across all your servers. From a single pane of glass you can create and manage connectivity, monitor performance, and apply rapidly repeatable configurations to any number of servers.
View the virtual topology
XMS 3 is intuitive, letting you manage virtual connections between servers, networks and storage as though they were physical links. Virtual connections isolated links, just like a physical link, and are displayed on familiar topology diagrams. But unlike physical connections, you'll never
again pull a cable or configure I/O cards. Connectivity can be
changed at any time, in seconds, even on live servers.
Connect to named network and storage resources,
not to nameless ports
Connectivity management can be a record-keeping challenge, requiring that you connect servers via anonymous cards, cables
and switch ports and then carefully document the configuration. The more complex the environment, the harder it is to setup, debug and change, and the easier it is to make mistakes. Xsigo lets you manage resources by named function, not by ID. So you always
know what's connected and where.
Wizards help guide the workflow
For common tasks, such as deploying vNICs and vHBAs, XMS 3 includes wizards that present configuration details in a logical order. With a few keystrokes, you can define the resource name, the target network, a QoS configuration, and the redundancy requirements. Then deploy the new resource to a live server, all in seconds
and with zero downtime.
I/O templates let you quickly replicate configurations
When multiple servers have common connectivity needs, an I/O template will speed the configuration tasks across those servers. Simply define a template one time then apply that template to those servers. Each will automatically be configured with the needed I/O, quickly and without error. And if the requirements change, simply modify the template to re-configure connectivity on all relevant servers.
Performance monitoring to identify bottlenecks
Performance bottlenecks can be difficult to find and fix. XMS 3 provides both real time indicators and performance graphing capabilities to help you track usage by connection or by server. So you can see when a particular link may be causing performance issues, or if a server is overloaded. When you do find an issue, dynamic I/O management capabilities give you options to remedy the problem.
